A part of that process is to keep the PC as free as possible of extraneous data. One way to do that is to run the disk cleanup utility that is a part of the Windows operating system. It removes “unnecessary” files from the PC and gives you for available disk space.
The disk cleanup program does not require administrative privileges and, therefore, can be run by any user. It is found under Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools. You can run it by double-clicking its icon. You can also run it from a command line or automate the process. Select what you wish to be processed by the disk cleanup from the following:

If you are off, you are either over or under exposing your files and you are asking for trouble. Your white balance should be neutral, with no color cast. How can you verify? You should first of all should be creating a custom white balance for each lighting scenario. In our studio I created a custom white balance and never change it. It works all the time because the lights and the studio setting is consistent. On location each scenario requires a custom white balance. It’s very easy when you get the hang of it.
To check that you are getting a fairly neutral image from you custom white balance, again, shoot a grey card, in Photoshop use the color picker, and the RGB numbers should all be very close together. This means your image is neutral. If any of the RGB numbers are way off, you have a color cast in that direction. Master this and you are 90% of the way to success.

Regatta fun on land and water

KINGSWEAR’S annual regatta attracted hundreds of rowers and visitors who also enjoyed vintage cars and a dog show.
Parish council chairman Jonathan Hawkins opened the popular regatta and fete on Sunday morning, then more than 1,000 plastic ducks were set free in Waterhead Creek. They made their way up to Jubilee Park, where the first duck over the line won Pounds 100 for its owner.
The ducks did not hold up the rowers, who competed in the sunshine for almost five hours, with more than 20 finals taking place. The famous Grand Challenge between Kingswear Regatta’s chairman’s crew and their Dartmouth counterparts was won by Kingswear’s Steve Ainsworth, Bob Furneaux, Roly Boyden and Bill Rowe, making it a 4-1 winning margin to Kingswear over the past five years.
Regatta president Chris Ryan said: “Hundreds of people mingled among the stalls, which sold everything from books to jewellery.
The food and beverage function was especially successful, with bacon butties for the early birds, followed by a lamb spit roast.
“The drinks flowed freely at the licensed bar and the Pimms tent was especially busy.
“This regatta is always targeted at families, and the kids had a great time with Splat the Rat, the human fruit machine and many other fun stalls, as well as Merlin the Magician, who had them enthralled during his two performances.
“Kingswear Community Primary School had raised over Pounds 4,500 at its auction of promises to fund more outside activities, and was a major beneficiary of the regatta. Their school orchestra played beautifully and many of the children raced on a shortened course in four-oared boats and really showed their prowess in beating the teachers.”
Kingswear Rowing Club chairman Wendy Ryan presented trophies to successful crews, and Mr Ryan presented the Harris Trophy to Sam Furneaux and her husband Bob for their hard work.
The prizegiving was followed by the After-Regatta Party in the Ship Inn.

KILDARE star Mikey Conway will not require surgery to solve the latest injury setback to his knee.
Having gone through the painstaking recovery process after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury last year, Conway looked to be close to a return only for tendonitis to force him to sit out training again.
He visited the same surgeon that operated on him last year in Santry last night to determine whether he would need to go under the knife again but physiotherapy should be enough to cure the problem.
Kildare selector Niall Carew explained: “There’s a little bone growing on his knee that’s rubbing off the cartilage and they have to decide now whether they’re going to operate on that or whether or lot of physio work will get that right so they have to make a decision on that this week.
“It’s pinching him all the time and it’s causing swelling. It can be common enough after a cruciate operation that this happens.”
However, Carew is confident that any subsequent surgery, if necessary, would be relatively minor and wouldn’t keep the versatile wing-back out of the start of the Championship

Boy, 14, stable after factory fall

A BOY left clinging to life after plunging 20ft through a glass skylight to a concrete factory floor was responding to treatment last night.
Michael McCarthy, 14, from Bootle suffered serious head injuries after the accident at Allerton Windows on Irlam Road, Bootle, on Thursday evening.
The schoolboy was taken to Fazakerley Hospital and later transferred to Alder Hey where he was described as being in critical condition.
It is believed a neighbour in Irlam Road risked his own life to climb on the roof to see where the boy had fallen

DRY cleaners have pledged to turn clothes green.
Johnson Cleaners has relaunched its store to offer the eco- friendly Green Earth service.
The Pounds 11,000 revamp, by the UK’s largest dry cleaning company, was officially opened by Cirencester’s mayor Geoffrey Adams.
Clothes can now be cleaned using innovative technology – a liquid silicone cleaning solvent which comes from natural sand, the same ingredient used in everyday shampoos, conditioners and lotions.
It’s proven to be kinder to skin and clothes and breaks down easily into natural elements if released into the environment.
Cirencester branch manager Pauline Finch said: “The branch will be using the latest eco-friendly equipment and the shop front and interior has been transformed.
“A lot of hard work has gone into refurbishing the branch and we’ve all received additional training.”
